    KAPS

Structure the opportunity. Shape the path to enterprise AI adoption.

Overview

KAPS is Accion Labs' AI Adoption Framework for turning enterprise AI ambition into a structured, actionable portfolio. Used through AI Discovery and Adoption Workshops, it helps business and technology stakeholders identify opportunities, shape use cases, create an initial shortlist and establish the right path toward prioritization and delivery. KAPS organizes opportunities across four families - Knowledge, Analytics, Process and Systems - and connects them to the value they create through Smart People, Smart Process and Smart Products. In commercial use since 2023.

The Challenge

Enterprise AI programs rarely suffer from a lack of ideas. The challenge is converting disconnected ideas, pain points and experiments into a coherent adoption portfolio. A knowledge assistant, an analytics copilot, an agent-led workflow and an intelligent product capability require different context, data, controls, integrations and delivery patterns. When teams select tools before shaping and categorizing the opportunity, pilots multiply, priorities remain unclear and successful ideas struggle to reach production.

What We Deliver

  • Four opportunity families. KAPS discovers, categorizes, and shapes each candidate use case through four families:

    • Knowledge use cases find, explain, and apply what the enterprise knows.

    • Analytics use cases measure, predict, and support decisions.

    • Process use cases improve and automate how work flows across people, agents, and systems.

    • Systems use cases embed intelligence into applications, platforms, and connected technology environments.

  • Portfolio mapping. The framework maps opportunities to Smarter People, Smarter Processes, and Smarter Products, making the portfolio easier for stakeholders to understand and organize.

  • Shaped use cases. Each shortlisted use case is shaped with its intended outcome, users, enterprise context, semantic requirements, solution pattern, grounding, guardrails, and integration needs, creating a stronger basis for formal prioritization and delivery.

How We Do It

Facilitated discovery workshops

We apply KAPS through AI Discovery and Adoption Workshops with business, technology, data, product, and operations stakeholders.

Guided shortlisting

The framework moves the discussion from strategic priorities and operational pain points to well-defined use cases, consolidates overlapping ideas, and creates an initial shortlist.

Semantic Engineering

This step identifies the enterprise meaning and context required for dependable AI.

Sequencing and handoff

AI Prism scores and sequences the shaped portfolio, while SPEX guides process-oriented opportunities into governed agent and automation design.

How KAPS Works

discover

Discover

Gather strategic priorities, business challenges, existing AI initiatives and candidate opportunities across the enterprise.

classify

Classify

Organize each opportunity into Knowledge, Analytics, Process or Systems and map it to Smarter People, Smarter Process or Smarter Products.

Shape

Shape

Define the business outcome, users, enterprise context, semantic grounding, solution pattern, controls and dependencies required for success.

Route

Route

Shortlist viable opportunities and prepare them for AI Prism prioritization, SPEX-led process and agent design, or the appropriate implementation path.

What You Get

A structured portfolio of enterprise AI opportunities

A practical shortlist aligned to business value and organizational readiness

Clear use-case classification, solution patterns and semantic grounding requirements

A Smarter People, Smarter Processes and Smarter Products view of where value will be created

A shaped handoff into prioritization, solution design and delivery

Why Accion

Adoption before implementation

We structure the opportunity portfolio before platforms, pilots or architectures are committed.

A shared enterprise language

KAPS helps business, technology, data and leadership teams evaluate different AI opportunities consistently.

Semantic Engineering built in

Use cases are shaped around the terminology, entities, relationships, rules and context AI must understand.

Connected to execution

KAPS links discovery to AI Prism prioritization and routes suitable process opportunities into SPEX for governed agent and automation design.

In commercial use since 2023

KAPS has provided a stable framework as enterprise AI has evolved from assistants and copilots to agentic systems.

See where value is created

Distinct categorization allows enterprises to understand AI impact better and measure it against the correct metrics.

FAQs

KAPS is Accion Labs' AI Adoption Framework for discovering, categorizing, shaping and shortlisting enterprise AI opportunities. It uses four opportunity families - Knowledge, Analytics, Process and Systems - together with the Smart People, Smart Process and Smart Products value lens to create a structured adoption portfolio.

KAPS discovers and shapes the enterprise AI opportunity portfolio. AI Prism applies formal scoring, prioritization and sequencing. SPEX helps take selected process-oriented opportunities forward by guiding the design of governed agents and automations. Semantic Engineering provides the shared enterprise context that supports all three.
